Meet Our Doctors

Dr. Teresa Bae is a proud Chicago native and a lifelong Cubs fan. Dr. Bae attended Loyola University of Chicago and graduated with a Bachelor of Science. Dr. Bae went on to Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine – Illinois and graduated at the top of her class and received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. She was also inducted into the Omicron Kapp Upsilon Honor Society. Following dental school, she moved on the University of Nebraska Medical Center to obtain her certificate of specialization in orthodontics and her masters degree in oral biology.

In her spare time, Dr. Bae enjoys traveling, hiking, and trying out new restaurants.

Dr. Ahmed Mohamed is a board-certified pediatric dentist who received his DDS at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine. He obtained his certificate in pediatric dentistry from NYU Langone in Brooklyn, New York and completed a Master of Science in Pediatric Dentistry and Special Care at Ghent University in Ghent, Belgium.

During his training, Dr. Mohamed was awarded the American College of Dentists’ award for “Ethics, Patient Care and Professional Behavior” and the Dr. Silvia Perez Pediatric Dentistry Award from NYU Langone Dental Medicine.

Dr. Mohamed has held teaching positions as a clinical assistant professor of pediatric dentistry at multiple institutions. He is an author of peer-reviewed journal papers with a focus on the oral health of children with special health care needs, dental traumatology, and dental materials.

When Dr. Mohamed is not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. Together, they love trying different cuisines and exploring new destinations.

Dr. Geetha Thirumala pursued her dream of being a dentist at Boston University Dental School. She graduated from Dental school in 2004 and went on to get further training at Montefiore Hospital in a one year general practice residency.

It was at Montefiore that Geetha realized that she had a passion to work with children. She subsequently completed a pediatric dental residency in 2007 at Jacobi Hospital in the Bronx.

Dr Thirumala, or "Dr G," as she is commonly called, is a board certified pediatric dentist. As a mother of three delightful daughters, she possesses a unique understanding of children which is seen in her practice of pediatric dentistry.

Outside of dentistry, Dr Thirumala enjoys spending time with her family, taking walks with Rocket (the dog) and traveling.

Dr. Thomas Lim attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. From there, Dr. Lim attended the University of Illinois at Chicago and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery and Masters in Oral Sciences. His Specialty Certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics was then achieved at the  University of Rochester, New York.

“I have an interest in integrating technology with Orthodontics, in order to make treatment more convenient, efficient and predictable. Having previously worked as a Mechanical Engineer, I am excited to see some of the technologies – such as 3D scanning, computer aided design, and rapid prototyping – being brought over recently to the Orthodontic field.”

As mentioned, Dr. Lim started his professional career as a Mechanical Engineer. He decided to change careers because he was “seeking a career with more personal interaction” that would allow him to utilize the commonalities between engineering and dentistry. Utilizing his aptitude for science is of high interest for Dr. Lim.

Outside of work, Dr. Lim enjoys traveling and sightseeing with his wife and daughter. Through work and schooling, Dr. Lim has lived in seven different states. However, having grown up in the North Suburbs of Chicago. “I consider Chicago, my home and am grateful for the opportunity to return here to serve this wonderful community.
