Invisalign and SureSmile straightens your teeth without wires and brackets, using a series of clear, customized, removable appliances called aligners. They are virtually undetectable, which means hardly anyone will know that you’re undergoing orthodontic treatment.
How Invisalign and SureSmile Works
Once the decision is made to use Invisalign or SureSmile, advanced 3-D computer imaging technology is used to transform your impressions into a series of clear, custom-fitted trays, or aligners. A set of aligners is worn day and night for about two weeks at a time, and is removed for eating, brushing, and flossing. Instead of scheduling semi-monthly appointments with our Gurnee and Vernon Hills orthodontist to have your brackets adjusted and tightened, after two weeks you can simply replace your aligners with the next set in the series. You may have as many as 48 aligners or as few as 12 over the course of treatment, depending on your treatment plan and the severity of your orthodontic problem.
